Jonas was born in Ludwigsburg in 1993. He completed his cello studies with well-known cellists such as Jean-Guihen Queyras, Conradin Brotbek, Clemens Hagen and Nicolas Altstaedt in Stuttgart, Salzburg and Berlin.
He also received important impulses from Eberhard Feltz, Reinhard Geobel, Steven Isserlis, Yo-Yo Ma and Tabea Zimmermann. He is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks held there.
Jonas is the winner of numerous competitions such as the “German Music Competition”, the “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition”, “Prémio Internacional Suggia” (Porto), “Concorso Enrico Mainardi” (Salzburg) and the national competition “Jugend Musiziert”.
As a soloist, he has given concerts with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, the Stuttgart and Neubrandenburg Philharmonic, the Bonn Classical Philharmonic, the Ludwigsburg Symphony Orchestra and the Ludwigsburg Concerto in concert halls such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Beethovenhalle Bonn, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Meistersingerhalle Nürnberg and Bremer Glocke.
Jonas was a guest at the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival, the Kassel Music Days and at Young Euro Classic Berlin.
His debut CD with works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Janácek and Dutilleux was released on the Genuin label in 2015.
Since the summer semester 2019 he has been teaching at the Stuttgart University of Music.
As a multiple winner of the competition of the German Musical Instrument Fund, the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben has loaned Jonas Palm a cello by Francesco Ruggeri.
