Eva Unterweger

Eva Unterweger was born in Albstadt-Ebingen, Germany, in 1990 and received her first violin lessons at the age of four. In 2007 she was admitted to Prof. Rudolf Rampf´s class for young musicians at the Music Academy Trossingen. Since 2009 Eva has been a student in the class of Prof. Sebastian Hamann at the Academy for Music in Lucerne. Further noteworthy stimuli she owes to master classes held by Prof. Christoph Wyneken, Prof. Adelina Oprean and Prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg. In the realms of chamber music she works with Prof. Isabel Charisius and Silvia Simionescu.

Eva Unterweger belonged to the Youth Orchestra Baden-Württemberg and the Chamber Orchestra II Giardino for many years. Next to this, she also gathered experience as a soloist with the violin concertos of Bruch, Bach, Mozart, Saint-Saëns and Vivaldi. In 2009 she was guest soloist of the Rachmaninov Music Academy in Tambov, Russia.

The young artist is also active in the field of contemporary music and performed Georg Friedrich Haas’ Third String Quartet at the Lucerne Festival in 2011. She is multiple prize-winner at the competition „Jugend Musiziert“ as well as at the "Anja Ignatius Violin Competition 2013" in Helsinki, where she was also awarded with a special prize consisting of a performance at the concert series "Lohja kesä".
