Mayu Fukuda

Mayu Fukuda was born in 1996 and began to play the piano at the age of four. She began violin lessons at the age of five in Geneva (Switzerland). From 2005 she attended a preparatory course at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo with Professor Takeaki Sumi. In 2010 she moved to Vienna, where she is currently attending the grammar school specializing in musical education, and has been accepted for the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna’s programme for exceptionally gifted young musicians, where she is taught by Professor Marina Sorokowa. She also receives a scholarship to attend the International Music Academy in the Principality of Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive coaching weeks there.

Mayu Fukuda has already won several competitions, including 1st prize at the “Young Musician International Competition Città di Barletta” in Italy (2013), 1st prize at the “International Competition for Pianists & Violinists Città di Barlassina”, also in Italy (2013) and 1st prize at the Austrian national competition “Prima la Musica” in Vienna (2014).

In 2011 she appeared in concert in Saginuma in Japan, and one year later, in 2012, she performed at the “Club der Wiener Musikerinnen” in Vienna.
