Paul Kropfitsch

The young Viennese violinist Paul Kropfitsch began his studies with Prof. Marina Sorokova at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2006. In the very same year, he won first prize at the local competition "Prima la Musica" in Eisenstadt with distinction.

This was followed by other first prizes at "Prima la Musica" in local as well as national competitions, most recently in Vienna. In 2010, he was awarded first prize at the International Paul Hindemith Competition in Berlin and in 2012, he was the winner of the International Violin Competition "Alpe-Adria-Marcosig" in Gorizia, Italy.  

Since 2010, Paul Kropfitsch receives the Josef Messner scholarship for outstanding achievements. The young violinist has performed at the International Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt, at Salzburg Mozarteum, at Vienna Konzerthaus and at Teatro la Fenice. The Austrian TV station ATV dedicated a personal reportage to his talent.
