Ariana Puhar

Ariana Puhar was born in Grabs, Switzerland, in 1999. She is a Liechtenstein-Slovenian citizen and lives in Buchs, Switzerland. At the age of four, she received her first piano lessons from her father soon making first small appearances. Only one year later, she discovered the violin and took lessons at the Liechtenstein Music School, with Herbert Scherz in Hausen am Albis and Alexandra Ruth Rappitsch at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory in Feldkirch where she was accepted as a junior student in the class for specially gifted young musicians. Since the summer 2013, she is being taught by Philip A. Draganov at the Zurich Conservatory.

Ariana Puhar has made numerous solo appearances, including the Amnesty International gala concert in Vaduz in 2008 with the "sinfonietta tonart" or the renowned orchestra "Collegium Musicum" in Vaduz and St. Gallen in 2010/2011.  In February and March 2014, she served as the youngest member of the Youth Orchestra Classics for "Art on Ice" in the Zurich Hall Stadium.
As a 13-year-old, Ariana performed her first recital with works by Kreisler, Wieniawski, Mozart, Telemann, Bartok, Lalo and A. Kaufmann within the framework of the Austrian concert series "talents at the radio studio." The performance was also broadcast in the ORF radio station. In March 2013, the young violinist played a further recital at the prestigious podium concerts in Vaduz where she was awarded the much sought-after sponsorship prize.

Ariana has attended many seminars and master classes reaping artistic advice from Krzysztof Wegrzyn (International Violin Festival of Young Master in Lindau), Latica Honda-Rosenberg (International Music Academy in the Principality of Liechtenstein), Thomas Brandis (International Master Classes in Vaduz) and Zakhar Bron (Interlaken Classics). Furthermore, she has successfully taken part in national and international competitions in Italy, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia winning her first award at the age of six. In May 2014, she scored first prize at the Swiss Youth Music Competition SJMW in Lausanne. Further distinctions were gathered at the "Concorso Internazionale Antonio Salieri" (Legnano, Italy) in 2012 and 2014, the "International String Competition Rudolf Matz" (Cakovec, Croatia) in 2013, the "Concorso Internazionale di esecuzione Musicale Giovani Musicisti "(Treviso, Italy), the "Concorso Premio Firenze Crescendo 2013 "(Florence, Italy) as well as the" Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Musicisti "in Povoletto (Udine, Italy).
