Isabelle Bania

Isabelle Bania was born in Sweden in 1989. She completed her bachelor's degree in violin from 2008-2011 at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music with Prof. Serguei Azizian. From 2011-2013 she completed her master’s degree with Prof. Serguei Azizian and at the University of the Arts in Berlin with Prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg. Since 2014 she has been an academic at the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin. 

In 2013 she received a scholarship from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and took part in the intensive weeks there. 

Isabelle has participated in various international competitions. In 2012 she was a prizewinner at the Danish National String Competition in Aarhus, Denmark, and a semi-finalist at the 2013 Swedish Soloist Prize. In 2013 she received the Järnåker Prize. 

Isabelle gained a wide range of experience as a soloist and as an orchestral musician. She played as a soloist with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, in 2008 at the annual conference of the Royal Swedish Music Academy and in 2007 with the symphony orchestra of the Falun Music Conservatory. From 2008-2011 she played as concertmaster in the Danish Radio Youth Ensemble. Since 2011 she’s a permanent member of the French baroque orchestra Les Ambassadeurs under the direction of Alexis Kossenko. She also works as a regular assistant in the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Danish National Chamber Orchestra at concerts and recordings. Since 2014, she’s Deputy Concertmaster in the Norrlandsoperan- Umeå Opera Orchestra. 

Isabelle has also played with ensembles such as the Holland Baroque Society, Ensemble Zimmerman, La Lumiere du Nord, Holmens Barokensemble, Wasa Barockorchester, Roskilde Kammerorkester, Skägga Kammarsolister. 

Isabelle has received multiple scholarships, including a youth scholarship from the Royal Swedish Music Academy and the Falun Music Conservatory in 2008, the Ida Lützhoft Music Scholarship in 2009, the Baroque Violin Scholarship from the Royal Swedish Music Academy in 2012 and the Rosenborg-Gehrmans Study Scholarship in 2013.
