Owen was born in Oslo, Norway, to a Norwegian mother and an English father. He has lived in Oslo and Kenya and has two siblings. He has been playing cello since he was seven years old. From the age of ten he attended a special music line in the Norwegian school system (in cooperation with the Barratt Due Music Institute).
Owen is a member of the national young talent programme and is a passionate and motivated cello student. He also receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and participates in the intensive music weeks held there.
Owen loves playing solo, as well as chamber music and orchestra. He has competed in various Norwegian competitions and has won various prizes, most recently winning 1st prize at a national competition for chamber music.
He also participated in the Young Philharmonic Orchestra Project for 2020. Owen was invited to the IMA course in September, but was unable to join due to covid restrictions.
