Scholar

Andrei Gologan

Andrei Gologan was born in Romania in 1992 and began piano lessons at the age of five. Only six months later he gave his first performance, playing pieces by Czerny, Beethoven and Schumann. In the following years he continued his musical training with the pianist Julian Arcadi Trofin. At the age of just 16 he was accepted as a junior student to Professor Pavel Gililov’s concert pianist class at the Mozarteum University, Salzburg, where he is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in piano. He also receives a scholarship to attend the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where he participates in the intensive music weeks.

The young pianist has won prizes at numerous national and international piano competitions, including the “International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz” in Kiev, the “Concours International Piano Campus” in Paris, the “Sigismund Thalberg International Piano Competition” in Naples and the “Lions European Musical Competition” in Istanbul.

At the age of 14, Andrei Gologan made his debut with an orchestra, appearing in concert with the Philharmonic Orchestra Bacau. A number of solo and chamber music performances have followed, in Italy, Croatia, Austria, Romania, Scotland, Switzerland, Ukraine, Hungary and in the United States.
