Jisoo Kim

Jisoo Kim was born in South Korea in 2002. She studied at the Seoul Arts High School in Korea before entering the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar in 2020 in the class of Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt. 

She took part in the Cello Academy Rutesheim of Prof. Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt. Jisoo receives a scholarship from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive music weeks that take place there. 

Jisoo won the 1st prize in the “Grand Prix for Chamber Orchestra” in Seoul by the Music Association of Korea and the 1stprize at the “Soloist Competition” in Seoul. She recently received a special prize at the “International Unisa Music Competition 2022” in Pretoria and is the 1st prize and overall winner of the strings at the “International Competition Vienna New Year's Concert”. She also won the 2nd prize at the “France International Music Competition”. 

She played a solo concert at the Kumho Art Hall in Seoul in collaboration with the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorcheser Pforzheim. She has worked with the Seoul Chamber Orchestra, the New England Conservatory Ensemble and the Seoul Soloist Cello Ensemble.
