Laura Mota Pello

Laura Mota Pello was born in Oviedo, Spain, in 2003. She started playing the piano at the age of six in the Escuela de Música Viva Tchaikovsky (Gijón) with Professor Natalia Mazoun. From 2012 until 2018 she continued her piano studies with Professor Francisco Jaime Pantín. 

She has received masterclasses with Professor Iván Martín, Josep Colón, José Ramón Méndez, Miguel Ituarte, Joaquín Soriano, Bruno Aprea, Elza Kolodin, James Giles, Logan Skelton, Jean Saulnier, Douglas Humphreys, Alexander Romanovsky, Christopher Guzman, Robert McDonald, Michel Beroff, Sergei Edelmann, Pavel Gililov, Lev Natochenny, Hubert Rutkowski, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Victor Rosembaum, Vera Vaidman, Nina Tichman,  Aquilles Delle Vigne, Alexander Gavrylyuk, Tomer Lev, Emanuel Krasovsky, Norma Fisher, Jeffrey Swann, Davide Cabassi, Aviram Reichert, Alon Goldstein, Ido Ariel and Michael Wolpe. She also receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and participates in the intensive music weeks held there.

In 2011, Laura has won 1st prizes at the VIII International Piano Competition “Antón García Abril” and at the XV Piano Competition “Santa Cecilia” of the Fundación Don Juan de Borbón. In 2015 she won 1st prizes at the XXI National Piano Competition “Ciutat de Carlet” and at the V International Piano Competition “María Herrero” in Granada and in 2016 at the VI National Piano Competition for Young Performers “Ciudad de Cuenca”. Also she won the Special Prize “Perfecto García Chornet” given for the best performance of Spanish music in 2015 and the 2nd prize in the XXXII Piano Competition City of Linares “Marisa Montiel” in 2013. 

At the age of eleven, Laura made her debut with orchestra as a soloist with Oviedo Filarmonía Orchestra in the Auditorio of Oviedo. Since then, she has given several piano recitals in Spain, among othters in the Evaristo Valle Museum of Gijón, the Monastery of Valdediós, the Shigeru Kawai Center (Madrid), La Casa de la Música de Mieres (Asturias), in different Spanish conservatories, the Monastery of Santa María del Paular (Rascafría, Madrid), the Jardín Botánico of Gijón, the Sala Eutherpe (Fundación Eutherpe, León), the Teatro Jovellanos of Gijón, the Auditorio of León, the Museo Arqueológico in Oviedo, the Teatro Filarmónica of Oviedo and the Auditorio of Oviedo. In 2013 she was invited to offer a piano recital in the TVE program “Pizzicato”. 

Among others, Laura has participated in the Music Festival of Segovia in 2012, the Music Festival “Clásicos en Verano” in Madrid, the International Piano Festival “José Luis Vega ‘Pelis’” in Candás in 2017, the XXII International Piano Festival “En Blanco y Negro” in Mexico City in 2018 and the Mendelssohn International Festival 2019 in Hamburg.
