Andriy Dragan

Born in 1986 to a Ukrainian family of musicians, Andriy Dragan studied with Prof. Lidia Krych in his native city of Lviv and later with Prof. Adrian Oetiker at the Music Academy in Basel. Furthermore, he reaped important artistic stimuli at master classes with Zoltán Kocsis, Piotr Anderszewski, Elisabeth Leonskaya, Dmitri Bashkirov, Ferenc Rados, Klaus Hellwig and Alfred Brendel. He is also a fellow of the International Academy of Music in the Principality of Liechtenstein, where he regularly attends intensive music weeks.

At 28, the pianist Andriy Dragan is still an insider’s tip, but highly successful at competitions. After having taken the "Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes 2009" as well as the first prize and "Prix Collard 2013" from the Kiefer Hablitzel Foundation, international engagements increased following the completion of his studies. He made his debuts at the Lucerne Festival in 2009 and the Verbier Festival Academy in 2013 and was selected "artist in residence” at the Festival La Roque d'Anthéron in 2013.

Andriy has close artistic ties to François Benda, Katharina Gohl, Alexandru Gavrilovici, Lech Antonio Uszynski, Kian Soltani, the Gémeaux Quartet and Astrig Siranossian. In 2013, he won the Duo Competition in Basel with the cellist Astrig Siranossian after having received the first prize at the "Orpheus Chamber Music Competition" in 2011 with the violist Lech Antonio Uszynski in Geneva. His latest project is the Lviv Chamber Music Piano Quartet he forms with Chouchane Siranossian, Lech Antonio Uszynski and Astrig Siranossian.
Andriy Dragan guests at much sought-after festivals such as the Verbier Festival, the Festival La Roque d'Anthéron, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, the Festival «Les Muséiques" in Basel, the Davos Festival, the Music Summer at Lake Zurich or the Annecy Classic Festival and at venues like the City Casino of Basel, the Tonhalle St. Gallen, the KKL Luzern and Zurich Tonhalle.
