The violinist Anna Lee was born in South Korea in 1995, and spent her early childhood years in Japan and Singapore. At the age of four she began violin lessons with Alexander Souptel, and gave her debut performance as a soloist one and a half years later, when she performed Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Lan Shui. At the age of six she moved to New York, where she was accepted as a student at the Pre-College of the Juilliard School to study under Masao Kawasaki. She graduated from the Juilliard School in 2013, and went on to enrol as a student of Comparative Literature (French and Russian) at Harvard College. Since 2014 she has been studying with Ana Chumachenco as a Young Soloist at Kronberg Academy. She also receives a scholarship from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, and participates in the intensive music weeks held there.
