Viktoria Hirschhuber

It was the moving sound of the Bruckner organ that left a lasting impression on three-year-old Viktoria and sparked her love for music. Born in Austria in 1996, she initially only took piano lessons as a hobby and began to devote herself more intensively to music at the age of 14. At the age of 15 she became a young student at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and at the age of 17, the renowned Russian pianist Prof. Pavel Gililov accepted her into his master class there. After graduating from the Musikgymnasium Innsbruck, she began studying piano with Prof. Gililov at the Mozarteum in October 2015.

In numerous master classes with pianists and piano teachers such as P. Gililov, J. Jiracek, L. Natochenny, P. Ovtcharov, M. Raekallio, St. Vladar and M. Voskresensky, Viktoria was able to collect diverse and very valuable impulses and broaden her musical horizons. The Russian pianist Peter Ovtcharov in particular has been an important mentor for Viktoria for many years and the intensive work with him has significantly influenced and inspired her musical development. She received further valuable impulses from well-known personalities such as Elisso Bolkvadze, Peter Cossé, Alan Feinberg, Eva Lind, Lev Natochenny, Herbert Schuch, Tamara Stefanovich, Erik Tawaststjerna and Lars Vogt. In addition, she was a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where she regularly took part in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.

At the Austrian youth music competition “prima la musica” Viktoria won 1st prizes in the piano solo category five times in a row at the state competition and also several special prizes. In addition, she was awarded the 1st prize in the piano solo category twice at federal level (2012 and 2014) and the Steinway Special Prize in 2014. In 2014 she was the winner of the C. P. E. Bach Prize at the international piano festival “Vienna Young Pianists”. In 2017 Viktoria won the sponsorship award at the finals of the “First Tyrolean Classical Instrumentalist Award”. In addition, the ORF broadcast a detailed portrait of the young pianist as part of the series "Tiroler Leut". She recently won the selection game of “Live Music Now” Salzburg.

The young Austrian pianist has already gained valuable concert experience through solo appearances in the Spanish Hall of Ambras Castle, in the Großes Festspielhaus Erl, in the Ehrbar Hall in Vienna, in the art hall "arlberg1800", in the silver hall of the SZentrum Schwaz (including Chopin piano concert with the city orchestra Schwaz) and in the Kulturhaus Anif. It was a special honor for her to musically open the “European Forum Alpbach” in 2017. Her engagements abroad include concerts in Italy, Germany, Malta, Liechtenstein and Georgia.

The Tyrolean is regularly invited to the Bavarian Radio in Munich to play chamber music together with soloists from the Munich Radio Orchestra, e.g. in studio 1 and 2 of the BR and at the "Small Summer Festival" in Gauting.

Viktoria was sponsored by a number of scholarships and supported on her way so far. For example, in 2017 she received the performance scholarship of the Mozarteum Salzburg. In summer 2018 she was invited by the renowned Wilhelm Kempff Cultural Foundation to take part in the first Schumann master class with Prof. Ovtcharov in Positano (Italy) as one of six scholarship holders from all over the world. Viktoria also received a scholarship from the International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg 2018.
