Javier de Diego Bermejo

Javier de Diego Bermejo was born in Spain in 1999. He began his piano studies at the age of seven and completed his elementary and professional studies at the Teresa Berganza Conservatory and at the Federico Moreno Torroba Conservatory in Madrid under Prof. Xabier Sukía. He graduated in 2017 with the highest marks in Piano and Chamber music and continued his bachelor studies at the Madrid Royal Conservatory of Music. Simultaneously, he studied viola from 2009 until 2018. The first two academic years he studied with Prof. Ana Guijarro, receiving honors in piano and other subjects. In 2019 he received an Erasmus+ Scholarship and continued his studies at the HMDK Stuttgart with Moritz Winkelmann. Currently, he studies his last bachelor academic year in Madrid with Patrín García-Barredo. He also received great musical, pianistic and chamber music influences from Graham Jackson. 

Javier has attended masterclasses from Eldar Nebolsin, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Galina Eguiazarova, Kennedy Moretti, Graham Jackson, Luis Fernando Pérez, Imre Rohmann, Josep Colom, Angel Sanzo, Victor and Luis del Valle or Miguel Ángel Ortega-Chavaldas. He also receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and participates in the intensive music weeks held there.

Javier has obtained several awards in piano competitions. In 2015 he won the 1st prize at the Piano Competition “Jacinto Guerrero” in Toledo, the 2nd prize and the prize for the best interpretation of a J.S. Bach work at the “First International Piano Competition UAX-Kawai” in Madrid and the 1st prize at the Federico Moreno Torroba Conservatory soloists competition, also in Madrid. In 2016 he won the 1st prize at the “Chamber Music Competition” of the Federico Moreno Torroba Conservatory and the 2nd prize of the same competition in 2017. Also in 2017 he won the 2nd prize at the “XXXVI Piano Competition Ciudad de Linares Marisa Montiel”. 

Furthermore Javier has been chosen to play in the prestigious hall of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid in 2021 and has been awarded in the “Jesús de Monasterio” Chamber Music Competition, for which he played at the National Auditorium in Madrid in 2021.
