Andrija Jovovic

Andrija Jovovic was born in 1998 in Montenegro. He comes from a musical family and began his musical education by playing the piano at the age of six. After attending the music elementary and high school in his home town, Podgorica, under the tutelage of prof. Lidija Skender, he is currently a student of the Viennese MDW (Univeristy of Music and Performing Arts), in the class of pianist and Prof. Nataša Veljkovic. 

Andrija has attended masterclasses and seminars and worked with many eminent pianists and pedagogues, including Dmitry Bashkirov, Akiko Ebi, Vladimir Viardo, Vladimir Krpan, Horst Leichtfried, Aleksandar Serdar, Boris Kraljevic, Yuri Kot and others. He is also a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where he regularly takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the Music Academy. 

He has won numerous 1st prizes in national and international competitions, including the “International Competition Petar Konjovic” in Belgrade (2016, 1st prize with special jury compliments, also 3rd Prizes in 2014 and 2012), “Citta di Avezzano” in Rome (2011), “Pjetro Gaci Award” in Albania (2013 and 2019) and the “International Competition Banjalucki bijenale”. He has also won numerous 1st prizes with maximum points in the Montenegrian national competition “Festival of young musicians”, both solo and in chamber music categories, with regular comments describing him as an incredibly talented young musician with a very professional tone and an impeccable musicality. 

Andrija has performed recitals in Vienna (Baroque Saal in Altes Rathaus, Gesellschaft für Musiktheater, Palais Eschenbach), The City Hall in Novi Sad, Serbia, the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro. He has also had recitals at the prestigious KotorArt Festival, as well as at “Days of Music” in Herceg Novi, and a concert with the Montenegro Youth Orchestra and recordings for the RTV Montenegro.
