Seohyeon Kim was born in 2001 in South Korea. She started playing the flute at the age of eight. In 2012 she joined the Seoul Arts Center Music Academy and in 2014 she was accepted to the Korea National Institute for Gifted in Arts. She is now studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with Philippe Bernold. 

She was a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and took part in the intensive weeks there. 

Seohyeon won the “Alexander & Bueno International Flute Competition” in the USA (2013) and the “Maru International Flute Competition” in South Korea (2015). She also received the 2nd prize at the “International Flute Competition” in Singapore (2014) as well as the special prize at the “Kobe International Flute Competition” in Japan (2017). 

She debuted with the Young Artist Recital at Kumho Art Hall (South Korea) in 2014, had a recital at the Carnegie Hall in New York and performed at the Steinway hall in Singapore.
