Mira Marie Foron was born in Stuttgart in 2002. At the age of five she began her musical training on the violin with Prof. Ina Kertscher at the University of Music in Hanover. From 2012-2015 she was taught by Professor Boris Garlitsky at the Folkwang University in Essen, from 2015-2019 by Prof. Koh Gabriel Kameda at the Detmold University of Music. Mira Marie has been studying with Prof. Koja Blacher at the Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule Berlin since the summer semester 2019.
Mira Marie attended master classes with Frank Peter Zimmermann, Josef Rissin, Daniel Hope, Zakhar Bron and Prof. Ana Chumachenco. She is also a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks there.
In “Jugend musiziert” with the national violin solo competition, Mira won the 1st prize with the maximum number of points. In 2011 she won the 1st prize at the 9th International Competition “Premio Città di Padova”, Italy, for solo violin and the 1st prize at the International Competition “La Flame” in Paris for solo violin. In 2013 she received the 1st prize at the XX. International violin competition “Andrea Postacchini” in Fermo, Italy and was awarded the special prize as the best German participant of all age groups. In 2014 she won the 1st prize at the “International Competition of the Anton Rubinstein Academy Düsseldorf” for young violinists, and in 2016 at the “Ferdinand Trimborn Förderpreis NRW 2016”. In the same year she received the 1st prize at the “International Swiss Charity Award”. In August 2018 Mira represented Germany at “Eurovision Young Musicians” at the “Edinburgh International Festival”. In 2019 she made it to the finals of the Manhattan International Music Competition. At the “International Berlin Music Competition” she received the “First Grand Prize” in 2019 and the “Golden Medal” at the first “Vienna International Competition” in 2020.
Mira Marie has extensive concert experience. In 2016 she made her debut at the Tonhalle Zurich with Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. Mira was invited by Ms. Anne Sophie Mutter to play “Mutters Virtuosi” at her anniversary concerts in 2017 at the Salzburg Festival and in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. Also in 2017 she performed Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 at the “Stars at the Rhine” festival in Basel. She also played the Sibelius Violin Concerto in Gelsenkirchen and Nordhorn. In 2018 Mira was invited to the chamber music course “Music Together” at the Kronberg Academy and in the same year she played the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Hye Ryung Lee. In January 2019 Mira made her debut in the Gothenburg Concert Hall and also made several chamber music appearances in Sweden. She played Tchaikovsky's violin concerto with the Rostock Philharmonic Orchestra and in the Bochum concert hall. As part of the gala concert, Mira made her debut in the Berlin Philharmonic with the finale of Tchaikovsky's violin concerto and in the Wiener Konzerthaus as the winner of the “Vienna International Music Competition”. Mira regularly plays chamber music concerts with her brother Nicolò.
As a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, she has been playing an instrument from the German Musical Instrument Fund since 2015. Since 2019 she has been the “Ambassador” of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
