Tonka Javorovic

Tonka Javorovic was born in Croatia in 1998. She started playing the cello at the age of seven in the class of Prof. Bernarda Debuš Redžic. At the age of seventeen Tonka was admitted to the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb in the class of Prof. Walter Dešpalj. In 2018 she continued her studies with Prof. Monika Leskovar. 

In recent years she has attended master classes with Silvija Sondeckiene, Monika Leskovar, Gustavo Tavares, Michael Flaksman and Kajana Packo as well as at festivals such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and the isaFestival with Professors Ivan Monighetti, Xenia Jankovic and Romain Garioud. She is also a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks there. 

Tonka has won numerous national and international competitions over the years. Among other things, she won five Oscars of Knowledge for excellent results - awarded by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport and the Education Agency of Croatia, as well as the 1st place in the national competition. 

She played with the Zagreb Soloists, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra and the Webern Chamber Philharmonic. Tonka has been a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra - EUYO since summer 2013 and plays as a soloist and in chamber ensembles as well as at festivals such as the Grafenegg Festival in Austria, the Spazio Klassik in Italy, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and the isaFestival. 

Tonka is a scholarship holder of the Rutesheim Cello Academy with Professors Ivan Monighetti and Claudio Bohórquez.
